On her latest single for her own Human Level imprint, Berlin-based Jam Rostron articulates her agenda more determined than ever. Taken from All Love’s Legal – her third studio album as Planningtorock, ‘Gender Baby’ features three versions of ‘Let’s Talk About Gender Baby’ as well as the new original ‘U&U’. Moving away from the darker melodies of previous releases, Rostron declares her love to at least three people at the same time, and makes it clear she wants to talk about gender. Steel drums and happy string sounds play on ‘U&U’, but the ‘LAFAWNDAH & ADR Remix’ of the single takes a much grimier route with heavy subs and skipping percussive elements.
