Fat Cat present the penultimate edition of the label's split-release series with a staggering pairing of the peerless Katie Gately and Tlaotlon. LA-based sound sorcerer Gately fashions 14 minutes of abstract future pop from the machinations of her own voice, twisted, distorting and moulding unimaginable sounds from the the bare bones of the human larynx. Shifting through bizarrely affecting movements and tweaked sonic experiments, it's a beautifully bizarre work. On the flip side Antipodean producer Tlaotlon crafts a series of dance floor beats that seem borne of juddering beats and alarm sirens. Rhythms clash and collide, pulled back and forth with wild abandon. A different beast to Gately's monolithic yet diverse experiment, yet no less intriguing.
