UK composer and producer Benyayer returns to Sound Records for his debut solo LP entitled Morpho. Something like a treatise of the idea of artistic metamorphosis itself, Benyayer tackles his departure from Dark Sky, his time busking in London with found objects, and his time spent studying modular synthesis with subtle nods to these various phases. It’s not all academic though, as Benyayer folds these conceptual ideas into music that inspires movement. No doubt influenced by his time in clubs like Berghain and Fabric, the album trades in sounds adjacent to techno and UK bass just as much as the experimental electronica from which he emerged.
