Berlin-based experimental electronic producer Kohshi Kamata lands on Dublin’s Offshoot Records: on Seven Most he displays his deepest inner feelings. Each song represents the specific state of emotions Kamata found himself in when composing. He mainly uses software like Max/MSP and PD to process his freely structured soundscapes. This results in detailed arrangements: the title track revolves around a piano sequence repeated with minimalist assertiveness, counteracted by an equally determined tambourine rhythm. Often, Kamata hints at sounds, the human breathing in ‘She Still Thinks’ is an example – or the drone of ‘I See The Echo’ that always threatens to bloat to a bursting wall of sound, but never does – Refreshing!
