Nicolas Jaar welcomes multinational producer Lucrecia Dalt on his Other People subscription imprint: her self-titled EP is following last year’s album Syzygy that came out on Human Ear Recordings. ‘Esotro’ ripples with chunky synth hunks and intimate whispering – when Lucrecia Dalt composes she takes found sounds from her environment that she might stumble across by accident – traffic noise through an open window, her flatmate having sex or making music – these elements find their way into her music, in their fragmented, pitch-bended way: Dalt weaves them into an organic, mysterious end result which doesn’t reveal much about its origins.
