An album to get easily lost in, “Atomos” from London based Erased Tapes develops on A Winged Victory For The Sullen’s “Atomos VII” bringing a greater, more vast array of ambient landscapes composed by the duo. Gorgeous string/electronic compositions soaked in melancholia throughout, this is a thoroughly enriching record. Originally commissioned for choreographer Wayne McGregor, some stand out tracks are “Atomos III” with it’s performance by Dustin O'Halloran on piano, or the use of acoustic and electronic on "Atomos VIII" to create an instrumental hybrid. For fans of ambient or modern classical this is a definitely something to experience.
