Forward thinking grime producer Mr Mitch builds on solid form with a debut release on Planet Mu with the Don’t Leave EP, offering a taste of his anticipated upcoming debut LP Parallel Memories. Making a name for himself through both his own Gobstopper label and residency at London’s Boxed events, Mr Mitch’s atypical take on grime sees him deploy chopped soul samples and coarse beats on ‘Don’t Leave’ and more dramatic, watery Sci-Fi textures on ‘Be Somebody’. The pensive melodies on ‘Padded’ mark the most emotional moment on the EP whilst ‘Oh’ flaunts a creeping beat, shuffling percussion and pitched up vocal stabs.
