Meda Fury Records invites Russian producer OL to add to their growing, high quality discography and here with the Border EP, he doesn’t disappoint. From the off, OL draws on his machine-focused sound, often laced with a groovy undercurrent, with clattering percussion clashing with garbled disco vocal cut ups on ‘Lum Edit’ and more cosmic Rick Wilhite-esque Detroit styles running through ‘Around’. Find a true party bomb in ‘Myxa’, which flaunts bounds of energy through its buoyant bass line and kicking hi-hats whereas the woozy downbeat essence on closer ‘X Pleasure’ drops the mood to a more contemplative state.
