Brighton-based label Donky Pitch celebrates its fifth birthday: founders Dave Grinnell and Pete Taylor showcase their international catalogue on an expressive compilation. Featuring both the label’s core producers The Range, Lockah and Ghost Mutt and newer signings such as Chicago-based Starfoxxx, Donky Pitch: Five displays the label’s eclecticism with regard to location and style. Brighton’s Lockah declares his love to reverberant 80s drum machines on two occasions, whereas London-based producer Slugabed shows off his array of synth sounds in his habitual manner. Providence-based James Hinton aka The Range is present with an excerpt from his excellent debut Nonfiction that put Donky Pitch on the radar and exposed it to a wider recognition.
