Berlin based Vertical67 returns to 100% Silk with his latest retro-futuristic transmission. He ventures even further out into cyberspace his second time around, balancing spaced-out sensibilities with just the right amount of good old-fashioned, earthbound acid house. Standout ‘Heatwaves’ buzzes with multicoloured 303 squiggles and intense arpeggios. ‘Lunatic’ is propelled by subtly shifting synths and crisp chords, while ‘Nightflight’ employs deep, hypnotic bass and pulsating pads. The impossibly airy ‘Invisible Presence’ is given an old-school rework by label-mate Octo Octa, who refits the original with an irresistibly hefty new bassline.
