After three 12-inches for Stockholm’s Studio Barnhus – which is run by Axel Boman’s, Kornél Kovács and Petter Nordkvist – Swedish producer Baba Stilz returns with his debut full-length for the label. On Total, he resumes the delicate style he’s displayed in his production for rapper Yung Lean, yet adds melancholy with his minor chord progressions and moony synth work. Stiltz plays with autotune vocals (‘Sun Dance’), acid sequences (‘Drone Zone’) and intimate ambient sound surfaces (‘Weeeb’), skilfully oscillating between the different influences.
