German-born, Chile-based veteran artist Uwe Schmidt AKA Atom™ makes his debut on the New York institution Bunker Records with the Ground Loop EP. Following performances of this new material at the NY club and also at Labyrinth festival in Japan, the EP strips out the most potent highlights for two substantial, extended trips. A-sider ‘Ground Loop 1’ carefully unfolds over steely ambience before plummeting into an acidic adventure with Schmidt at the helm imparting his trademark technoid vocals. Flipping over, ‘Ground Loop 2’ again tops the 10-minute mark and really opens up an engulfing sinkhole with its jittering glitches, searing synth lines and progressive aroma.
