20 years on since the last Basic Channel 12", the pioneers of the hypnotic (dub techno) groove have returned with 'Q-Loop' a track originally released on the Basic Channel BCD in 95' as a 5 minute edit, here we are presented with the full 13 minute version as well as two extra dubs. Considering how old the recording is it stands the test of time and you could be forgiven for thinking it's a modern recording (Kassem Mosse - Broken Patterns could have been lifted from the same session) but at the same time it still has that eternal Basic Channel edge to it that no one will ever manage to beat, endless loops spiralling into oblivion. More interestingly are the reductions on the flip, Q1.2 is a vintage basic channel dub but heard from the night club a few streets away while Mutism is an experiment in the very fringes of sound & rhythm.
