Deejay Deer is, according to Numbers, the label’s - and presumably the world’s - first forest dwelling animal to put out a record. While we’re giving Numbers the benefit of the doubt, part of us suspects that Deejay Deer hasn’t been hiding out in the woods all this time and is in fact the alias of a well-known veteran producer. Whoever the artist is behind Unnatural, this promising debut showcases an expansive and melodic production style that recalls Caribou, Floating Points and Joy Orbison.
