This release from newly established Amsterdam label Knekelhuis, named after the party collective of the same name, is the first in a series in which artists performing at the crew’s events are given free reign to collaborate as they wish. For the series debut, L.I.E.S.’s regular Legowelt is paired with Dutch producer Cliff Lothar for four cuts of heathen house. ‘Ultra Paganus’, features a maddening synth line and ethereal, Theremin-like sound effects. While, ’Midi Cauldron’ is melting pot of MIDI chords, rippling electronics and fluctuating rhythms.
