Minimal techno pioneer Robert Hood reissues his Moveable Parts Chapter 1 EP as the second precursor for his ambitious retrospective compilation M-Print, due to be released in December. Originally released in 1995, this reissue is part of a series of re-releases of his M-Plant back catalogue, celebrating the label’s 20th anniversary this year. ‘Untitled Sketch’ runs at dizzying 143 bpm, its hi-hats almost spinning over: all three tracks are iconic examples of Hood’s characteristic production style, revolving around relentless 909 drums and agitated synth sequences.
