Eclectic UK band Red Snapper present their latest African-inspired full-length Hyena. The LP began as a live soundtrack for 70’s Senegalese film Touki Bouki, then took on a life all its own. Unaccompanied by visuals, funky, afro-beat infused tunes like ‘Card Trick’, ‘Herder Can Dance’ and ‘Dock Running’ stand all on their own. Elsewhere, the boys show off their versatility. They channel afro-disco on ‘Village Tap’, dub on ‘Lassoo’ and even a bit of motorik on closer ‘No Exit’.
