French techno front-runner Marcelus returns to Berlin’s legendary Tresor imprint with another release of highly functional material that treads the line between house and techno. First of is ‘Red Dance’, an unadulterated concoction of rounded bass thumbs and clattering percussion; ‘Worship The Bass’ follows with its effective driving stomp. Tripped out, delay-heavy samples underpin ‘Shine’, which drops the tempo to a more doped pace whereas the beatless ‘Astra’ closes proceedings in a plume of celestial ambient smoke.
