Another promising debut on Huntley + Palmers, following on from the label’s introductions to SOPHIE and Auntie Flo. Showcased on this release is talented newcomer Wrong Steps. An Italian producer, based in Berlin, Wrong Steps’s productions bear some resemblance to Portable, Metro Area and Floating Points. The latter’s influence is audible on ‘Rain’ in the warmth details of its minimal constructions. On the EP’s highlight, ’Glam’, string stabs are paired with funky chords and intermittent glitchy pops and clips.
