London imprint Tempa, long-time purveyors of the finest in UK bass, bring us the latest instalment of their Tempa Allstars series. Keeping the tradition, Volume 7 highlights half a dozen tracks from up and coming noisemakers. Grime producer Wen leads off with the spacey, metallic stomp of ‘Push Back. Manchester’s Alex Coulton follows with hollowed-out dub-tech cut ‘Equilibrium’, and Sheffield’s Chris Innasound counters with the abrasive digital dub of ‘Step Fourth’. Batu gives us a taste of his clattering brand of dubstep on ‘Ghosted’, Axh chips in dark wobbler ‘Nano’, and NZ duo Perverse bring the sub-bass on ‘Jacobin’.
