The latest cut from the Anthony Naples-run Proibito label is a vibrant collection of tracks from budding US producers. Alex Falk's 'Mitsuda' pits swirling mechanical sounds and elusive synth melodies against a relentless kick pattern. Hank Jackson's 'Mongoos' is a mysterious affair, difficult to pin down, a smattering of murky bass and juddering synths floating with irreverent abandon. Jackson Lee takes African chant and brings it to the club for 'Sumba Togola', rattling toms and muted kicks and drowning them in a sea of reverb by the track's end. Huerco S., working under his Independence Ave Orchestra moniker, contributes 'Welfare', a swamp of echoey synths and vintage percussion.
