After a series of recent releases for labels such as Falty Dl's Blueberry and Acoustic Division, Michigan-based producer Todd Osborn readies his next EP for Gerd Janson's Running Back imprint. Put Your Weight On It includes two mixes of the title track: whereas the Frankfurt version makes do with the hi-hats in focus, the Chicago edit takes the track right back to its roots with its emphasis on kicks and snares, the vocal sample and acid synth lines being the key features. 'Markert' layers up multiple synth sequences in joyful atmosphere, and 'Medium' takes us back a couple of decades with its crackling drum sounds and exhilarating melodies.
