Swedish mystery duo SHXCXCHCXSH return to Avian with a strong second full-length. While their group name is still virtually impossible to pronounce, their follow-up to 2013’s STRGTHS is significantly more accessible, in title and in sound. Despite their swirling, textural production cuts like ‘Drain This Lord’, ‘Elocution’ and ‘This Hmming Raverie’ knock with acute techno precision. Not to say that the pair stands still for long, stylistically. They thread in menacing minimal vibes on ‘Wadin Guise’, dubbed out low frequencies on ‘The Roots’ and narcotic 2-step swing on ‘The Under Shore’.
