Trance Mutation marks a change of direction for Italian producer Manuel Fogliata aka Nuel: after exploring the realms of dancefloor proven techno, his latest album for Further Records is of a dreamful nature. Recorded in only one week with one day attributed to each track, it becomes an expedition into Fogliata's mind the further the intimate recording process advances. Lucid melody fragments progress organically into streams of sounds. Airy rainforest percussion meets mellow acoustic guitar arpeggios, and occasionally sees electro piano and synth sequences take over the lead. Rashad Becker once again displays his extraordinary mastering skills: each sound, each instrument stands out distinctively against their counterparts, thus immersing us in a subtle yet intense sonic world.
