London club Fabric’s excellent label arm Houndstooth presents the highly anticipated debut LP from Berlin-based English man Call Super. After raising his profile through a steady string of experimental, yet club focused EP’s on Houndstooth, LP Suzi Ecto sees the producer exercising his more insular sounds, often with an ethnic blend of complex rhythm and highly intricate melodies. Woozy, multi-layered sounds on ‘Sulu Sekou’ induce a daze-like stupor, with a serene clarinet meandering between the soft sounds; ‘Otto Ink’ is equally organic and enchanting, sitting between ambient and experimental with its mixture of natural and synthesized sound.
