Rai Scott, half of 2DeepSoul alongside Brad Peterson, goes solo for a release on Ornate. Deep, sultry house grooves abound, as Scott shows off her production chops and inventive compositions. ‘Forgotten Sleep’ is a misty take on house, ethereal chords hovering while bass and melodious synth patterns intertwine. ‘Here & Now’ sees crashing toms meet similarly evocative chord washes, emotion running wild. ‘Do We Really Know’ glistens with '90s promise, shimmering bells sitting gracefully atop broken beats. Dubbyman tackles the latter track, adding broken flair to its wide-eyed wonder.
