The 10th release on Optimo Traxx comes from Crooked Man, better known as Parrot to those in the know. The erstwhile pop star and DJ puts out hypnotic 12”s and no less than JD Twitch is an evangelist of this man’s talents. ‘Undigitize Me’ hits a heady groove, robotic slabs of synth meeting a sultry vocal that spits out the word “punctuate” with sensuous abandon. ‘Skink’ is even more sexual, whispered, echoed vocals drifting over thick layers of claps and slathered mechanisms. ‘Try Me’ takes down the tempo and jacks up the emotion, a sparse track embellished greatly by the pained vocals of Pete Simpson.
