Parisian producer Jacques Bon, one half of Bon & Rau and head of Smallville’s French operations, steps out with his first solo release and it’s a keeper. Two Hearts is a confident debut EP, showcasing Bon’s knack for warm, cosmic house grooves. ‘Jasemines Dream’ is a beauty, all bouncy bass and playful synth-work. Slow burner ‘Sunday Evening’ is built around ominous pads and acid-flavoured 303-sequences, while ‘The Sail’ sets off for sunnier sights, thanks to Bon’s vibrant synth-work and jacking drum programming. Finally, he proves he can go deep on emotive, end-of-the-night banger ‘Vision of Blue’.
