Manchester’s legendary DJ and tea connoisseur Mr Scruff strips standout cut ‘We Are Coming’ from recent Ninja Tune LP Friendly Bacteria for a good seeing to by German house wunderkind Max Graef. On the A-side, Graef’s opening bass thuds on ‘We Are Coming’ really hit hard, although the original drum fills and swirling synth chords ensure none of the cosmic ‘floor focused boogie is lost. On the other side, Mr Scruff offers a ‘Re-tweak’ of ‘Feel Free’, this time opening with a beautiful trumpet and double bass introduction from Matthew Halsall and Phil France of The Cinematic Orchestra before effortlessly transcending into tightly wound slice of dance floor sophistication.
