Jagjaguwar proudly present Sinoia Caves’ synth-heavy soundtrack for Beyond The Black Rainbow, Panos Cosmatos’ 2012 cult sci-fi thriller. Caves, perhaps better know as Jeremy Schmidt, the keyboardist for Canadian band Black Mountain, pays homage to the all-time greats of spooky scores, particularly Giorgio Moroder and Tangerine Dream. The latter band’s kraut-world influence is evident on ‘Forever Dilating Eye’, while the former’s haunting synth melodies permeate ‘Run Program: Sentonauts’ and ‘1983 – Main Theme’. Decidedly more original pieces, like the gorgeous ‘Elena's Sound-World’ and the droning trumpets of ‘1966 - Let The New Age Of Enlightenment Begin’ add a deft, contemporary touch.
