Helsinki producer Samuel Van Dijk (aka Mohlao, Multicast Dynamics, etc.) returns to the Delsin label under his VC-118A alias for a new EP entitled Avian. Dijk has typically trotted out steam engine hot electro with the VC-118A project and Avian is no different, though the Finnish man adds a little extra depth and drama to the proceedings here to great effect. ‘Distorted Name’ is a great title for a track that indeed sculpts some palpable fuzz around those locked in grooves, while the closing ‘Brush’ chooses a feather approach over his typical pedal-to-the-medal for some neat dynamics.
