The second collaborative album between London trio LV and Benin City vocalist and story teller Josh Idehen, released on Dusk and Blackdown's label Keysound. Putting Joshua Idehen's vocals more firmly into the mix, Islands is a departure from their 2011 debut Routes. More coherent and with a stronger emphasis on his uncompromising flow, the British-Nigerian MC articulates his way through the versatile beats. LV swirl their alarming synth sounds and kuduro rhythms into grime ('Imminent') and use breakbeats in the most subtle way ('Shake'). This is an accomplished body of work exploring themes of being an outsider and isolation.
