Chicago techno mutant Beau Wanzer returns to Beau Wanzer the label for the seventh entry in this quasi-eponymous EP series on his own recently-relaunched imprint following incredible releases on L.I.E.S and The Trilogy Tapes alongside the Rezzett crew. As with previous BW releases, Wanzer leaves most of the grit and grime intact here, giving these recordings a certain tactile nature that feels as though you’re locked in the room with them. The sinister ‘FU Klaxon’ plays like a detuned electro at the wrong speed on the turntable, while ‘The Database Demon’ is more like a narrow escape from a rave heard from the toilets down the hall, in the best way.
