Ever prolific EDMX lands on Skrufix with some typically grooving, ‘floor focused artillery entitled the Wicked Drummer EP. Things get underway with ‘The Fizzy Track’ which references UK garage and 2-step with it’s kicking drums and nimble key work whereas ‘No Papa’ draws on a more sunken house groove whilst still employing a characteristic sun-kissed melody. We’re plunged back into the old school with retro breakbeats on the title cut ‘Wicked Drummer’, utilising vocal chops and sizzling synth chords to conjure up some early 90’s nostalgia; finally the rhythmic killer ‘Bedtime Banshee’ wraps things up with plenty of swing.
