Continuing the revival of his house-orientated output, prolific UK artist Matthew Herbert follows Part 6 with another EP of contorted, ‘floor ready material. First off is ‘Bumps’ which once again draws on the vocal talents of Hejira lead singer Rahel to add extra character to the detuned chord stabs and wonky groove whereas ‘Sucker’ is a clumpy arrangement of deranged electronics. On the flip, ‘Get Strong’ offers light string picks balanced on a contorted industrial drum rhythm that’ll really hit hard once played on a big system whilst closing cut ‘Pretty Daddy’ is another bizarre piece of electronica that literally sounds like little else out there.
