After returning with his first proper material in almost a decade as ex_lbiris, Dave Huismans isn’t settling down in the slightest, debuting yet another alias with an LP full of active downtempo landscapes. In Transit is music of discovery, treading through the lichen-filtered air of a misty forest and finding twitchy, stumbling beats and frosty swirls of ambience, while crashing piano chords and asymmetrical shatters slice through the stillness. Amidst murmuring bass, icedancing synths, and trudging shuffles and slams are the spectral fluctuations of ‘A.19’ with slow spewing ritualistic rhythms, while the LP ends with a heavy embrace of chiming sound on ‘A.3132’.
