The 1990 classic ‘Aftermath’ from Nightmares On Wax receives a heavy reworking from two of Berlin’s most respected DJs and producers Ricardo Villalobos and Max Loderbauer. Here, the original energetic breakbeats are distilled down to two extended dub interpretations. First, ‘Aftermath (Ricardo Villalobos & Max Loderbauer Dub)’ channels a micro-house groove together with odd shakes and gasping vocals, gradually maturing into a transfixing, multilayered beast whereas the ‘Electric Jazz’ version is a little further away from the floor and feels closer to Loderbauer’s left-field work with the Moritz Von Oswald trio.
