Avian Records takes a dive into the murky waters of dissociative industrial noise with the Autobody EP from New York artist Dual Action. Originally released on cassette via Hospital Productions, the EP is a combination of hard rhythms and industrial-grade ambience. Opener ‘Body Automatic’ offers the most in terms of mechanical-led rhythm with its frazzled drum stomps, whereas ‘Suncoast 69’ and ‘Oil On Asphalt’ are more haunting sound collages with distant, despondent voices. ‘Automotive Sex Club’ offers another austere slice of dystopia on a release that’ll appeal to fans of Powell, Maurizio Bianchi or Prurient.
