Huerco S’s Colonial Patterns was one of 2013 most underrated albums and this latest EP for Proibito is part a continuation of the minimalist aesthetic set out on that record. On the A-side, the muffled percussion gives room for the subtly shifting synth lines to take hold. The B-side’s two untitled tracks are both set in a heavy atmosphere of white noise, melodies barely audible under the surface. A more focused and refined take on techno than Huerco’s recent releases.
