Originally released in 2003 and reissued and remastered in 2013, Nocturama is the twelfth studio album by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. It marks Cave’s reunion with producer Nick Launey (Talking Heads, Gang of Four) who first worked with him as part of The Birthday Party in the early 1980s. Producer Launey helped to move the focus more towards the band, resulting in powerfully bleak piano and string arrangements. This compliments Cave’s lyrical poetry, as sorrowful as ever. The more than 14 minutes long ‘Baby, I’m On Fire’ with its furious guitars and a blaring Cave turns out to be the programmatic highlight of the album.
