After the excellent Opal Tapes debut Lunar Earth, HOLOVR is back on the label with a new LP’s worth of material entitled Holo Earth. The deeply atmospheric release is able to function in multiple realms, beginning with the grainy ambient textures on ‘Out Land’ lending themselves to more insular situations; followed by the dizzying analogue chug of ‘Bubble Glad’ and more militant ‘Desert Varnish’ that’ll appeal to deeper selectors. Deconstructed jungle breaks smothered in a blanket of ambient vapour on ‘Ground Flash’ recall Lee Gamble’s work on Pan whereas the coarse hardware-driven chugs on 'Core Value' are closer to something from Miles Whittaker’s locker.
