Los Angeles beatsmith Ras G goes back to back with Brooklyn newcomer VHVL on his latest transmission for Leaving Records. On his side, Ras lays down his trademark spacey sonics. Standouts ‘Move Alone…’, ‘3am Downtown’ and ‘Can’t Fuck up My Good Day’ are built from earthy samples, quavering bass lines and shambling percussion. On the flip is a side-long beat suite from VHVL aka Veronica Lauren, who displays a penchant for knocking, low-key productions that Brainfeeder/Leaving disciples will eat up.
