Death Is Not The End present a highly authentic collection of late 1940’s folk songs taken from the Mississippi State Penitentiary. Compiled by Alan Lomax, Murderer’s Home shines a light on acapellas performed by inmates of the state correctional facility, which despite the obviously grim circumstances are entrenched with a distinct sense of soulfulness and passion. Evoking images of a sun-baked work farm; these incredible recordings offer an insight into the sound of a time long gone.
