Another sterling effort from fledgling art label Where To Now, this time coming from D.Hansen, also known as Lotide and Stefan Jós when he's releasing on Opal Tapes. A Pair of Quiet and Empty Rooms sees Hansen get conceptual, setting himself the task of creating something wholly new, with a self-imposed 'no samples' rule. Instruments and implements were banged and stroked in the making of this release, recorded in different rooms and at different distances. Periods of eerie silence and affecting clatter meet comforting melody, the mood drifting between confusion and calm.
