Modern Math, operating out of western Canada, drops its inaugural white label release in the shape of Taal Mala's White Label Renegade EP. The Vancouver DJ and producer has taken a KRS vocal drop, ethereal strings and visceral bass and mixed them up for a veritable storm of physical stomp and circumstance. Throwback in spirit, timeless in execution, it's a riot. A remix comes from California's Grenier, who slows the track down but eschews none of the original's powerful energy. Bmore drum patterns and percussive flourishes meet Missy vocal snippets (as well as that famous KRS shout) for this tongue-in-cheek rework.
