Fresh off the back of their combined works with legendary Japanese musician Ryuichi Sakamoto, Stephen Vitiello and Taylor Deupree collaborate for their first combined effort. Created as part of the Robert Rauschenberg Residency Program the Captiva EP is an exercise in immersive, naturalistic ambient music. The extended A-side piece ‘From The Fish House’ is a staggeringly beautiful composition consisting of bird sounds, running water and a hovering modular synth drone underlay. On the other side the duo pay their respects to the late Robert Rauschenberg with ‘Last Piano (For RR)’, tinkering with soft piano keys for a moment of stark minimalistic beauty.
