Berlin-based producer Danny Daze, originally from Miami, returns to Ellum Audio with a monster of a tune. The A side, ‘Flange’, is built on a looping synth chord that dissipates into the flanger freakout hinted at in its title. The dub version of the track strips out almost everything from the original, leaving only percussion and intermittent electronic revs. ‘Ritmo’ is closer to Detroit than Berlin, its rolling 303 bassline eventually rising to the surface from under swathes of synth.
