Luca Venezia, best known as Drop The Lime!, picks up his Curses! moniker for Jacques Renault’s Let’s Play House label. ‘Bark In The Dark’ is a playful affair, on-beat repeated chords grounding the track while a syncopated melody dances about bouncy percussion. Naum Gabo, the adopted name of James Savage and Optimo's J.G. Wilkes, isolate and emphasise these elements, adding squelching bass and shimmering harmonics along the way. ‘Eyes On You’ is a haunting dance-floor number, melancholy chords and shuffling beats complementing a mournfully treated vocal sample, and finally ‘Need You’ is on a 90s house tip, a respectful throwback jam.
