Italian producer Giovanni Civitenga aka My Dry Wet Mess puts out the Laptop Lapdance EP. After releases on Brainfeeder and Daedelus’ Magical Properties imprint, this latest EP comes on Fine Grains Records with remixes from Ikonika, Dam Mantle and Auntie Flo. In accordance with the lush production style Civitenga has developed over the years, ‘Nailed Scale’ with its tripping beat and syncopic chords reveals his Brainfeeder history, while opening track 'Twos Too' is similarly light on its feet. 'Eyelids' Secrets' grooves a little harder and darker, but still shuffles with a kind of effortless grace. 'Infinito' meanwhile is a warmly bubbling jam rounded off by gently clacking percussion swooning keys. Auntie Flo provides a bright house version of 'Nailed Scale', whereas Dam Mantle dismantles its elements and rebuilds it into a track of deep, percussive low-end. Hyperdub’s Ikonika takes things into the realms of techno with in her banging ‘Scenario adjustment’ remix of ‘Eyelids’ Secret’.
