Sparky’s Numbers revival anthem ‘Portland’ is treated to a going over courtesy of tireless remix specialists Tuff City Kids aka Running Back boss Gerd Janson & Phillip Lauer (Arto Mwambe). Here the Germans travel back in time to offer a vintage-tinged reinterpretation packed full of retro drum breaks and dewy-eyed synth pads. On the A-side is the ‘Looney Mix’, following in the footsteps of the duo’s outing on R-Zone with rollicking drum breaks and a side serving of skewed acid pulsations whereas the ‘TB Mix’ takes the euphoria into overdrive with its filtered chords and restrained 303 licks.
